Miss Katie crowned Queen!!!!!

What an exciting way to open the 2008 Elkhart County 4-H Fair! Mrs. Katie Sautter, our Sr. Fair Queen representative was crowned the 2008 Sr. Fair Queen!

Many of you will remember meeting her and her granddaughter Mekayla Diehl (the 2007 Fair Queen) at our Mother Daughter Banquet this year.

It was a tough competition with 11 very qualified ladies, but the judges made the right choice! Katie is going to be a wonderful ambassador for the Fair and has already represented the club very well!

Congratulations Miss Katie! We are all so excited and proud of you!!! We look forward to hearing about your week as queen.

Flower Girls

This morning the Room 4-U "Fair Flower Pot Committee" met at Sautters Floral and Landscaping to create the club's entry for the Fair Flower Pot Contest. Our Sr. Fair Queen Representative, Katie Sautter, met us there and helped us with the entire process.

She gave great tips on which flowers would do the best in full sunlight, choosing complimentary colors and the flowers which would mature the most quickly. It was a lot of fun and everyone helped plant the final pot.

Finished!

Katie Sautter to represent Room 4-U 4-H in the 2008 Sr. Fair Queen Contest

Tonight club members had the opportunity to meet Katie Sautter, our 2008 representative for the Elkhart County Sr. Fair Queen Contest. Miss Katie's granddaughter, Mekayla Diehl was the 2007 Elkhart County 4-H Fair Queen.

Miss Katie shared with the club that she is a former 4-H leader and 4-H parent and is excited to be in the contest. After the meeting, Miss Katie spent time getting to know the girls and a little bit more about the club.

Be sure to come cheer Miss Katie on as she competes in the Sr. Fair Queen contest at the Fair Grandstand on Friday, July 18th at 9am!
